College Education

I’m going to college!

The United Angels Foundation is at the beginning stages of working with universities through out Utah to have programs that will allow individuals with special needs to gain a college education.  A few programs have already been started: Utah State has their Aggies Elevated program and Utah Valley University has help for individuals with Autism, however UAF has a bigger vision in mind where inclusive higher education options for people with intellectual disabilities is a more readily available option.

Currently New York leads the nation in options for post secondary schools with 31 colleges and universities offering programs to individuals with special needs. United Angels would love for each of our universities in Utah to have a program that allows those with intellectual disabilities to receive a college education along with the skills they need to be a successful and valued member of society. The United Angels Foundation feels strongly about helping families with individuals with special needs achieve their greatest desires. One way we try and do this is by providing as many opportunities for Interaction, education, and by finding or creating the resources our families need.

One way we are moving forward with our post secondary education vision is by raising awareness of the need for these programs.  In order to help raise awareness we need to raise the funds to do so.  UAF is excited to participate in #GivingTuesday on November 28, 2017.  #Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement built by individuals, families, and communities in all 50 states and around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in. We believe that with the help of our members, local leaders, and friends we can raise our goal of $10,000 on #GivingTuesday and bring about a much needed change in Utah for individuals with special needs.
