New and Expecting Parents/ Asperger Community

Dear Parent (s),

This letter is not always an easy one to write. If you are reading it, than it is very likely that you have just found out that your child has been or will be born with a disability. If I had not gone through the same thing, I know that I would not be able to relate to the feelings that have undoubtedly accompanied this news. I have experience this, however, and I want you to know that you are not alone, nor do you have to walk this road alone.

When my daughter, Aubrey, was born, we had no idea that she had Down syndrome. The news hit me like a ton of bricks, and especially my wife, who had been waiting, anticipating the arrival of her little girl. I still vividly remember all of the questions that immediately bombarded my mind, filling my heart with all sorts of doubts and fears. I also remember a kind-hearted nurse who, upon hearing the news, came into our room and talked with us about her own daughter that had Down syndrome. Instead of feeling sorry for us, she helped us to realize what an incredible blessing this little angel would be in our lives. She made it feel like we had just won the lottery. I remember how great it felt to know that there was someone else out there who had gone through the same experience that I had, and could relate to my feelings.

The United Angels Foundation was made to help provide the same support for new parents of children with disabilities, that I received when my daughter was born. Our mission is to help support you, as a parent, in this new experience. Our members, parents just like you, help support one another – sharing their experiences, knowledge, and wisdom with those who are experiencing this for the first time.

I know that you have many things you are thinking about right now. I hope that you will accept this small gift as a token of our love for you. You are not alone, but have joined a fraternity of parents entrusted with these special children. If you are interested in joining our foundation, please visit, or speak with one of our representatives.
